When the pandemic shut down winery tasting rooms, Peter founded Sip Wines — a sustainable-wines DTC marketplace built specifically to help small wineries reach customers who could no longer visit on-site.
The differentiator: most wine marketplaces sell bottles. Sip Wines sold winemakers. Wineries built their own profiles and listed inventory; buyers browsed wineries first and discovered the wines through the people behind them. Stories before SKUs.
Peter recruited two Stanford co-founders, shipped the MVP, signed 10 wineries at launch, and handed the company off to the co-founders to take it forward full-time.
